Are You A Hater Or A Helper?

Why am I here? Seems like a simple enough question. I’m here to…and you can just fill in the blank. Right? Except, most of us struggle with this question. Many of us struggle with it so much, we stop asking it out loud and attempt to push it to the back of our minds every day.

We convince ourselves we are not important enough to answer the question. We convince ourselves life is about making it through the day alive. Then, we can hop on IG or Facebook and live vicariously through the lives of others. And when that isn’t enough, we turn into haters.

Jealousy only exists when we have not yet fully achieved, understood and embraced full self-worth.

Our journey is continual. We’ve been deceived into thinking there is a magical place of accomplishment where all successful people arrive. This place of wonderment and merriment is where all the perpetual parties, palm trees and mai tais exist. In this place, no worries exist, no struggles happen and obstacles are scared to enter.

But, this doesn’t exist. Movement is continual and we can choose to grow or slowly die. Not the slow physical breakdown of our cells and functions. But the slow, painful atrophy of our dreams and desires.

Some of us convince ourselves we have never had dreams. But, that’s not true either. One of the greatest attributes of children is the ability to imagine, dream and find play in every moment. Along the way, we go to school and are taught about all the “rules” of life. We’re conditioned to think if we don’t play by all of the rules, then we will be left behind. Again, another untruth.

All these forced parameters cause us to lose sight of one simple fact. You are great and there is something unique about you that no one else has. Life is about the search for that unique thing and how to use it to help others.

Once you find it, DIG IN to it. Use it for all it’s worth.

Your gift was given to you so you can GIVE to others!
