Day 7

Paralysis by analysis! I’ve heard that phrase used many times. It refers to the phenomenon when a person or group of people become stuck because they repeatedly discuss and search for the details of a project rather than simply beginning to act. Most of us have gone through this at some point. We stay stuck because the fear causes us to rationalize. In our minds, we say:

“No, it’s not time yet”

“No, we can’t move forward yet because this piece is not done”

“It just doesn’t feel right right.”

“I’m not sure of what the next step would be.”

“We have to make sure”

“We have to do another practice run”

And on and on and on.

Does this sound familiar? So what are you going to do about it? WHEN are you going to do something about it? There is only one response that will make an immediate difference. NOW!

You’ve recaptured your dream. You’ve looked at the possible blockers. You’ve configured your perfect day. You’ve even looked at the resources you might need. Now, it’s time to ACT! You know what you need to do. Now, HOW will you do it? If you were to start today, what would be your first step? And your second step? And your third step?

Here, let me give you one of your steps. Put it on your calendar. OK. Now, go! Let’s get moving.

Day 7 Prompt: How will you begin moving toward your goal today? What specific action will you take?

Moving towards your dream is hard work. You can have passion but if there is no action, it simply remains a dream. In fact, if the passion only exists in your heart, then is it even really passion? Passion moves you. Passion drives you. Passion pushes you to do what it takes to get past stuck. REAL passion lights you up. Without action, your passion is simply a deep want.

So, the question remains…whatcha gonna do about it?
