Realizing The Gap

Have you ever committed to something and then looked back only to realize you’d missed a segment?

Every time I started P90X, I would cross off some of the dates on the calendar and then skip some. I would look up and realize there were gaps in the calendar. It would remind me that I’d missed some days. Some days I was legitimately out of time. Others? I just rationalized my way out of it.

This is another way of saying I quit. I weaseled out.

But, I’m not giving in to the gap.

I won’t break the chain.

Some links on the chain will be powerful and some will be weaker. But even the weak ones link to the next. The gaps link to…nothing.

They are gaps and the more of them you have, the easier it becomes to accept them. The more of them you have, the easier it gets to talk yourself out of pressing forward. The more gaps, the closer you are to giving up totally.

Don’t make room for the gap.

Keep the chain linked.
