She Heard My Voice
I was having a conversation with my pastor recently when she told me she heard my voice. My head tilted to the side a bit as I looked back at her quizzically. She went on to explain how she had been watching a video I’d posted to Instagram, and there was a moment in the video where something switched, and she heard my voice.
You may still be struggling to understand, but I understood what she meant. She explained further how she enjoyed the content of the video and even my presentation of the information. But every speaker has these moments of connection where you recognize something more significant than their words. It’s as if their entire essence is sharing a message at that moment. They seem to be more of a conduit than a speaker. Passion shines through and connects with the listener.
I understood what she meant because I’ve heard the switch before. I’ve heard it in others and heard it in myself.
I remember leading a mastermind session and speaking at the end about the reason for purpose. As I spoke, it felt effortless. I distinctly remember speaking but feeling like I was also in the audience listening. The words flowed, but I didn’t remember thinking about them. As they poured from my lips, I remember feeling excitement and pure, unfiltered joy. I could almost feel myself floating on each word as they made their way to the heart of the listener. It was a…
