The Smile of Success
Don’t allow perfection to be your obstacle.
You have a goal.
You have a future envisioned.
But as much as you want it, as hard as you try, life gets in the way.
Resistance gets you.
You promise yourself you won’t get distracted anymore.
Then it happens again. You miss your deadline.
You begin to fight in your brain, telling yourself you’re not a robot.
Every argument seems to justify the error. You begin to embrace yourself as a victim more and more.
The trouble with this is you aren’t a victim.
You are a victor.
You have choices.
Do it again but understand this.
Choice doesn’t equal easy.
Understand from the beginning how intense this season might be.
Know the challenges will appear in order to test you and strengthen you.
Embrace the barriers as barbells meant to build your muscle.
Admit you want the beach body. Now take ownership of the beach body work.
Admit you want the bestseller status. Now write the book and do the marketing work.
Admit you want the championship. Now, think like a champion and do champion work.
Whether we admit it or not, most of us want something. Deep down, we all have a vision of what our life would look like at it’s most amazing.
It’s beautiful, isn’t it?
If you close your eyes and let go for a moment, it actually excites you.
You feel it in your bones. It makes you smile.
It’s the smile of success. It’s the smile of satisfaction. It’s the smile of focus.
It’s an awesome smile and it comes a work requirement.
Embracing the smile means embracing the work. In order to keep the smile, you must also keep the work.
Now, do you want the smile?
I do.
You can have it. It’s yours.
