Day 11

If life was easy, we’d all get it right all the time. If life wasn’t challenging, everyone would come in first place every day. If life wasn’t a journey, we’d all be grown-ups with the same jobs and yet nothing would get done.

Life is great with all it’s turns, bumps and bruises. It’s simply a matter of how you choose to look at it and how you approach it.

As I look at the dreams I’ve had, I find I’m constantly in a process of asking questions. Usually, one of the big questions is, “How do I do that?”.

In an earlier post, I explored the question of which resources are needed in order to get to the destination you are after. But, sometimes you don’t know what the resource is because you don’t know what you don’t know. And when you don’t know what you don’t know, then you need to learn what you don’t know. If you place yourself in a continual mode of learning, you begin to find places where gaps exist.

In my upcoming book, 7 Ways To Know You Were Meant To Lead, I discuss a time where as a young leader in business, I was leading and implementing the changes I felt would inspire the team to perform better. But, it wasn’t until I asked questions to the oldest member of my team that I would find out what was missing. It wasn’t until I asked “Momma Mae” how I was doing that I would find out the things I needed to learn.

Once you find out what you need to learn, you might discover there are quite a few things missing. This is when you begin to prioritize. This is when you begin to sequence the information to see what is most important for you to learn first. Another way might be to figure out what is most IMPORTANT for you to learn.

In either case, it’s critical to ask the question, then create a plan around it. But, you can’t create an effective plan until you ask the question and have some answers.

Day 11 Prompt: What do you need to learn most right now?

You have begun to create your plan but now you need to really maximize it. You need to get the most bang for your buck. What is it that, if you knew it, would make such a great difference in your life or your business? This is a leverage point which will make a huge difference once you are able to apply your energies to it.

Ask questions. Get answers. Prioritize the list. Learn what you need. Do it! Get help! Delegate and then do so more!
